ATHIRAPPILLY WATERFALLS

Thumboormuzhy Dam and Butterfly River Garden
While visiting Athirappilly Water Falls, if you have some time to spare it might be worth a quick glance. There is a bridge built across the river and the view overlooking the mountains takes your breath away. The butterfly garden filled with flowers and butterflies is an unique experience. Vazhachal waterfall
The Vazhachal waterfall is a scenic and popular waterfall on the edge of the Sholayar forest range in Kerala. The Vazhachal is part of the Chalakkudy River. Its cool, misty waters cascading down with the backdrop of thick green forest and rocky terrain are a scintillating experience for visitors.
Malakkappara
There is 86 km distance from Chalakudy along the State Highway 21 via Thumboormuzhi, Athirappilly, Vazhachal, Sholayar etc. Malakkappara is 89 KM distant from Pollachi via Attakatti, Valparai, Solaiyar Dam etc. Tamil Nadu is the border state of Malakkappara.
Malakkappara is an unexplored tourist destination, being a boarder place belonging to Thrissur district of Kerala in India. In addition, one can drive around the mountain tea estates enjoying the pleasant climate and forget the once dense forest that have paved the way for tea bushes. 64-km drive from Pollachi to Valparai is itself an exotic experience. En route is the Indira Gandhi Wild Life Sanctuary where lion-tailed macaque, the Nilgiri and the common langur, Malabar giant squirrel, elephant, gaur, spotted deer, sambar, barking deer and wild boar reside. From Valparai you can visit the Aliyar, Sholaiyar and Nirar dams. Tunnels bored into the mountains and canals to harness the water from Parambikulam, Aliyar, Nirar, Sholaiyar Dam, and several tourist spots.
Charpa Falls
This impressive waterfall cascades from about 70 feet above and lies in between the famous Athirappilly and Vazhachal waterfalls in Thrissur District of Kerala India. The source of this beautiful fall is from River Chalakuddy, which flows with great speed and moves along the roadside. The Charpa falls is present at a distance of nearly 60 kms from Thrissur and looks magnificent in the monsoon. The damp clouds when hover above the waterfalls, the surroundings become exceptionally beautiful and enchanting.
